Is there a way I can make pancakes without using baking powder?

Baking powder is not baking soda and cornstarch. Its actually baking soda and an acid, usually creme of tarter. You need the baking powder of else they pancakes wont wise and they wont taste very good.Is there a way I can make pancakes without using baking powder?
baking powder is baking soda and corn starch, more or less. so you can use baking soda, just don't use as much. use about half.Is there a way I can make pancakes without using baking powder?
I guess you could leave out the baking powder. They might not taste the same though.
